How we operate

No paid org staff

RRI is volunteer-run on the organization side. Founder time, legal, accounting, and website are uncompensated. Donations don't pay anyone in the U.S. — they pay the rangers, stewards, and field operators on the ground.

Where the money goes

Project budgets cover gear, fuel, vehicle maintenance, satellite comms, camera traps, and stipends for local stewards. Headcount on the ground in 2025 included twenty trainee rangers in Aceh and a community NGO in Andilambologno.

Processing fees

Wise typically charges 0–0.5% on cross-border transfers. PayPal charges roughly 2.9% + $0.30. Bank wires have flat fees that get cheaper at scale. For gifts above $5,000, wires reach the field with the least friction.

What we don't do

No third-party fundraising contracts. No vendor commissions on donations. No gala overhead. No external auditors paid out of project budgets — verification is on-chain where it makes sense, peer-reviewed where it doesn't.
